How To Improve Running Speed and Agility – My Story !

Click here to see the program I finally found that actually worked!
What I have learned over the past 11 years of high level sports competition and training is that there simply is no trick that will instantly improve your running speed, court agility or explosiveness. Unfortunately I cannot offer you special shoes or a secret industry tip. What I CAN offer you is some sound advice and a proven resource that with a little work can actually drastically increase your speed and agility. Being a multi-sport athlete for many years, I am no stranger to all the sports equipment on the market claiming to have “magic” results that will transform you in as “little as 4 minutes”. Like you may be I was eager to boost my speed and tried out many of these products, even working with a personal trainer, however I was seeing only minimal improvements. It took me a few years before I found an effective solution that actually brought me results, not overnight but within a week or two! I was in high school playing volleyball and running track competitively when I discovered The Truth About Quickness training program.

I was skeptical at first (as I am with most online products) and the price seemed a bit high but I convinced a teammate to split the cost and we decided to give it a go (now being offered for half the price I bought it at!). We spent the first day reviewing the comprehensive guides and extensive resources (supplement code, flexibility tips, nutrition guide.. etc) that came with the program. Using these guides we were able to implement unique new workouts into our training regimen and started the next day. The third week in and we couldn’t believe the improvements, I mean we were already pretty athletic but I already noticed a huge difference in my agility and explosiveness on the volleyball court and was recording record times on the track (I shaved a startling 2 seconds off my 200m time). Not to mention my vertical jump increased by at least 3inches because I was training relevant fast twitch muscles and increasing my fast twitch muscle ratio!  Check out the Truth about Quickness official site !

My coaches were shocked and a month after starting the program both my track and volleyball coach were integrating some of the tips and exercises into our team practices (check out old volleyball video below). A year later I was forced to give up my volleyball dreams in light of a lucrative offer to continue my running career at a intercollegiate level. It has been a wild ride and I have just recently completed the Truth About Quickness program for the 3rd time, and I’m still seeing improvements. I still keep in touch with my old teammate (now a human kinetics major and successful varsity hurdler) and before writing this post we discussed how and why this program works and how lucky we were to have found it when we did.  If you want to increase your explosive speed, on court agility, strength and power to finally become that high performance athlete your capable of then this program is definitely worth every penny! Don’t be fooled by any of the other internet gimmicks this is the only proven system that if your willing to put in a little work will actually bring about results. And the best part is it is not sport specific, meaning you will see results is all sports ranging from competitive running to soccer and baseball and basically any other activity that involves speed, agility, coordination and motor skill. While I will admit this program is not perfect and the results will vary depending on your attitude and focus, it is by far the most extensive and detailed guide available. And the best part is this program is multidisciplinary meaning its training methods work for basketball, football and soccer players alike, basically any sport which involves agility and speed!

If your serious about taking the next step in your athletic career then I definitely recommend giving it a shot, it worked for me and haven’t looked back since.

I have divided them into three categories and provided examples for each.

Speed and Agility Training Program Scam

The complete speed training guide written by Latif Thomas and Patrick Beith was a program that I experimented with about 2 years ago. This program claims “developing explosive speed and agility in your athletes is easy!”. It simply wasn’t. Luckily I borrowed this program and it’s accompanying limited resources from a fellow track club coach and did not waste my money purchasing it.
How to Improve Running Speed

The claims it makes are outrageous and the workouts complicated, inefficient and mundane. After 6 weeks of following the outlined program I saw minimal improvements and felt like I was wasting my time. After discussion with Greg (the coach I borrowed it from) I learned that he to was unsatisfied with the results his athletes using the program were getting (or not getting) I don’t enjoy speaking negatively about speed training and agility programs but this program simply did not make the cut!

Still huge improvements in running speed after 3rd time repeating “Truth About Quickness”

Hey guys !
First day of indoor track camp tomorrow and that means training camp! Three days straight of running, running, running! Day 1 includes some speed and agility warmup exercises followed by high intensity interval training. More agility and quickness drills and explosive speed training are scheduled for day 2. And finally day 3 we undergo strength and conditioning training in the morning at the strength and conditioning centre, and in the afternoon test each other on the track in a series of mini sprints and events.  This is the funnest part of the season for me because its when I usually surprise everyone with my fast times. But the seconds I shaved off my times didn’t come easy I have been working hard over the break and have completed the renowned “truth about quickness” program for the 3rd time and I’m continuing to see results. I’m running faster than ever !!!
